Capital Campaign
Caring Enough To Grow
The
dream of expansion began 5 years ago, during the 100th birthday celebration
of our church building. This structure has served our congregation well for
many, many years. The foresight, generosity and “step in faith” of our
ancestors was amazing. Now it’s our turn! We have an opportunity to pay
back, by paying ahead.
We have outgrown our fellowship room, worn out the basement and are unable to meet all of the needs of larger church and community programs. What a wonderful bit of good news-bad news!
God calls us to grow, to reach out, to be.
The dreams presented in this campaign are our dreams. We can achieve these goals. We will climb this staircase together!
“Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.”
-Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
What do we do first?
Give prayerful consideration to our goal. Talk it over with your family -- and with God!
Soon all of us will be given a chance to participate in this endeavor. You will receive information pertaining to our goals and be invited to make a commitment. The project is estimated at one million dollars. We expect to raise $270,000 in our campaign.
Why do we believe we can do it?
God has blessed this congregation. We have faith in God and God’s plan for us. We have a history of accomplishing our goals. In 1992, we renovated the interior of our church and our roof was repaired.
More recently, the beautiful stained glass windows in our sanctuary and vestibules were cleaned and restored.
All of these projects were paid ahead of schedule!
Where is the money?
The money is and always has been right here! We can raise the funds needed to meet our goal if we are faithful and committed to our church and it’s mission, trusting in the power and grace of God.
Based on our commitment, our current and future needs, and our history of support, we believe our campaign WILL be successful.
Just a thought:
Did you know that if you would be willing to give $1.00 a day for 3 years, it would amount to over one thousand dollars? That’s incredible!
Do I hear $2.00 ?
How can we give?
Cash, checks, property, memorials, stocks and bonds will be gratefully accepted. Remember, no gift is as important as one given from the heart -- it’s the very best gift we can give!
When do we give?
Kickoff Sunday was October 24, 2004. We have commitments from our leadership team and we are well on our way! Your gift may be received at anytime now or over the next 3 years of our campaign.
Our Vision Statement
We want to provide the best possible facilities for our children, our children’s children, the community and ourselves. We want it to be a place where people want to come; a place that is available and accessible; and a place that meets the known needs of today and the anticipated needs of the future. We want it to be a place where all ages, from senior citizens to young children, can gather for fellowship, learning and play. Realizing the challenge of pursuing that vision and knowing it will involve commitment and dedication, still we believe it to be a possible goal. And so we commit ourselves to work together, and rely on the power and leading of God to make it happen.
Think of us in this way, as servants of Christ and stewards of God’s mysteries.
